New Delhi, January 31, 2024 – The Indian agricultural community is on the edge of its seat as the nation approaches the budget announcement on February 1, 2024. Central to this anticipation is the PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, a pivotal government scheme supporting millions of farmers across the country.
Under the current framework, eligible farmers receive an annual sum of 6,000 INR, disbursed in three equal installments of 2,000 INR each. This scheme has been a lifeline for many, helping them navigate financial challenges inherent in farming.
However, recent media reports suggest a potential increase in these installments. If the budget aligns with these speculations, the annual sum could be raised to 9,000 INR, with each installment increasing to 3,000 INR. This 50% hike could significantly bolster the financial support provided to the farmers.

The implementation of this increase, if confirmed, is expected to start from April 2024. This means that the upcoming 16th installment, likely to be disbursed between February and March, would still follow the existing scheme of 2,000 INR per installment.
Farmers across India are eagerly awaiting the budget, hopeful for this increase. Such a change in the PM Kisan Yojana could mark a substantial step in strengthening the agricultural sector, a vital component of the Indian economy.
As the nation waits for the official word, this potential increase in the PM Kisan Yojana stands as a symbol of the government’s commitment to its agrarian population.
